Joel Tadao Miyasaki is a PhD candidate in modern U. S. history at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He has written extensively about Japanese American history and has thoroughly enjoyed his venture into biography. He holds a bachelor's degree in history from Brigham Young University-Idaho and a master's degree in U. S. history from Utah State University. He enjoys writing and teaching and has worked with public school teachers to help them understand current trends in historical thought. Born in southwest Colorado, he grew up in southern Idaho. He now lives and works in West Haven, Utah with his wife, Ashley. He enjoys reading, sports, and trying to answer Jeopardy questions from the comfort of his living room.
